A Christmas Coffee for 2020
Like everyone during this difficult year, our lives and our business has changed. We’re still roasting coffee and sending it to cafes, restaurants, homes, (home) offices, etc but it’s been a challenging and changing climate, for us and our customers.
We’ve also been aware of the impact this is having on people in this country and everywhere in the world. The actual virus itself — which has taken so many people’s lives — but also the mental health impact, the impact on our health issues and the social impacts of a contracting economy — one that people who were already struggling in have had to bear the biggest brunt of, including our loved industry — hospitality.
But not to dwell on the negatives, we have seen so much good come from our communities this year, inside and outside of hospitality and we wanted to do our bit. Food poverty has been growing unacceptably for years, and the pandemic has only accelerated this.
We wanted to do what we could, but coffee is technically a food item, it’s slightly more on the luxurious side. So we decided to donate £2 from every 250g bag and £8 from every 1KG bag of our Festive Blend to The Trussell Trust, who have a 1200+ strong network of food banks throughout the UK. They also believe in ending the need for food banks, and we couldn’t agree more. We’re honoured to give what we can to help support as many that need it.
