1-Star Great Taste Award Winner 2025

Our signature coffee, Up Hill is, to us, what specialty coffee should be: delicious yet consistent, adventurous yet approachable. As an espresso expect exciting and fruity, but still delicious with milk.

This coffee comes from the Santa Barbara Mountain near Yojoa Lake, the only lake in Honduras. Lake Yojoa is an impressive natural reservoir of water from volcanic origin. It has an incredible diversity of aquatic animals and 50% of Honduras’ bird species can be found here. On its coasts you find important archeological sites showing the existence of prehispanic civilizations - and its panoramic views are simply just awesome. Right here, in the mountains, the most famous Honduran specialty coffees are cultivated, many of which have been Cup of Excellence winners.

Farmers began growing coffee in the region in the 1940s, though mostly as a secondary crop. But starting in the 70s, coffee became the main economic sector in the area, promoted by the high coffee prices at that time.

By 2011 the region was badly affected by the leaf rust disease which destroyed crops on almost all farms. In the following years, rather than changing their crop the producers wanted to continue working with coffee. So to safeguard themselves and their futures, they started to include new leaf rust resistant varieties in their production. During this time, farmers also learnt about the potential of specialty coffee - mainly through the Cup of Excellence competitions. And since then, many producers have started to experiment with improving their processes and export micro-lots.

Expect tasting notes of yellow plum, Sicilian orange, glazed pecan nuts

Up Hill

As an espresso the apple notes shine through. Lovely when made in french press too. Perfect to enjoy before heading out on the bike(up hill)

Definitely not your average bean

Hmmmm, this coffee has a really lovely flavour that’s actually very complex to my taste buds. This sort of quality, for me, is worth paying for. I realise it’s “expensive” by supermarket standards but this is no supermarket coffee roasted to high heaven to disguise the beans. I am more than happy to support proper ethical high quality coffee done right.

Too Expensive

For a monthly subscription the price is still 3 times more that I pay for beans and no way would I use 1kg in a month. I will not be buying until you reduce the price as you do from time to time. It’s a shame as the coffee is nice.

Delicious coffee and reasonably priced. My favourite

These beans are so flavorful, I love them. Hand grinding them and brewing with my espresso machine, 10/10!
